Today I am going to share 3 amazing people that became very successful who had down syndrome.

Collette Divitto –  Entrepreneur 

Collette Divitto finished a 3 year cooking course at Clemson university she had a job interview and was met with nothing but polite rejection. She took her most popular recipe, the amazing cookie and founded Collettey’s Cookie and working in a single based grocery store. She made media appearances on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and GMA. BCC. She also has a partnership with lays potato chips. Colette now employs 13 people and hopes to use her platform to reduce unemployment and poverty levels among people with disabilities.

Isabella Springmuhl Tejada – Designer

From an early age she followed in her grandmother’s footsteps who was also a designer as a child Isabella who created clothes for her dolls but play turned into work. She enrolled in a fashion course then she began working on clothes inspired by Guatemalan culture. designs aimed at people with down syndrome. Her first showcase in 2015 where she sold her complete collection the success gave her international attention. In 2016 her designs were shown in London fashion week and followed an exhibit in Rome. She landed a spot in the BBC 100’s woman list. 

Madeline Stuart – Supermodel

She was born in Australia in 1996 and attended a Brisbane fashion show in 2014. Stuart decided to become a model and began training and her mother launched an online campaign and resulted in Stuart signing 2 contracts in one week. She quickly racked up accolades and walked the catwalk in NYC, Paris, London fashion week and other shows around the world. She also profiled in Vogue & Forbes and completed special olympics triathlon three times.

I chose these amazing and successful people because I hope one day I will be considered the same as they do. I know that they are so famous but I know that if I work hard and dream I know that day will come.
